Tell us about a project, program, or initiative that your company will be working on in 2023.
In 2023, GWL Realty Advisors will advance its commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions for our assets under management by 2050.
Locally in Edmonton, our 2023 focus has been on "amenitizing" our Downtown Building at First & Jasper. As the office leasing market remains highly competitive, we have heard loud and clear that Buildings that do not offer amenities will be "left behind". At First & Jasper, we are finalizing Phase I of our amenities project to offer our Tenants (free of charge) for a Conference Centre / Meeting Space and a Fitness Facility. Phase II, which is currently underway and slated for July 2023 completion, involves a Tenant Lounge and Lobby Refresh area that offers a casual spot for Tenants and their visitors to relax, have lunch, and enjoy coffees.
Tell us about events or programs you have to encourage employees to build relationships in the workplace.
A key to building and maintaining a dynamic work culture is gauging employee feedback. GWLRA conducts regular employee surveys to help us understand how staff feel about key issues. Survey results have led to new initiatives designed to address feedback. Programs include a Mentorship Program and National Culture Strategy. We also encourage staff to leverage a volunteer day that can be used by teams to give back to the communities where they live and work.
